Main FTP Account
The system creates the main Webhosting FTP account at the same time as the service itself. It sends the login information in service creation email notification, you can change the password later in the customer administration panel according to the instructions in the chapter Change FTP Account Password.
The main FTP account name always has the form wXXXXXX, where XXXXXX is usually a six-digit number. In the FTP account list in the Webhosting details, it is marked with an icon with the letter M.
The main FTP account is the only one authorized to access the Webhosting root directory. If you need to work with the basic Webhosting structure or access a restored backup, use your main FTP account.

Secondary FTP Accounts
Secondary FTP accounts are mainly intended for administrators of individual sites, especially if you run more than one on a single Webhosting service (via subdomains or aliases). These accounts only have permission to access the www folder or a defined subfolder.
The name of the main account always has the form wXXXXXX_identifier, where XXXXXX is the same, usually six-digit, number as the main account. You can choose any name with up to of 20 characters (lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers) as the identifier.
Create New Secondary FTP Account
Follow these steps to create an additional Webhosting FTP account:
- Log into the customer administration panel.
- In the navigation bar, select Web & Email Hosting Webhosting (or WMS).
- Select the Webhosting to add the FTP account to.
- In the left menu or FTP Account list, click New FTP account.
- Fill in the form:
- Login: The FTP account individual name.
- Folder: Enter the folder to which (including subfolders) the account’s access will be limited. After creating an FTP account, you cannot change this directory. If the directory does not exist, the account’s FTP connection will fail.
- Password Recipient: Check and enter all emails to receive this account’s password.
- Click the Create FTP Account button.
Once the account is created, the assigned folder cannot be changed. If the folder doesn’t exist on FTP, connecting with that account will fail.
Delete Secondary FTP Account

- In the navigation bar, select Web & Email Hosting Webhosting (or WMS).
- Select the Webhosting to delete the FTP account from.
- In the FTP Accounts table, click the account you want to delete.
- Type DELETE in the marked filed and click Delete FTP Account.
FTP Account Management
The system sends FTP login information upon service creation (for the main FTP account) to the billing email, or to the specified addresses when a secondary FTP account is created. The account details, with the exception of the password, cannot be changed.
If you want to ensure that the account is not accessible with the given credentials when you are not actively working with it, you can temporarily block the account.
In the customer administration panel, follow these steps to access the FTP account management interface:
- Log into the customer administration panel.
- In the navigation bar, select Web & Email Hosting Webhosting (or WMS).
- Select the Webhosting to manage FTP accounts on.
- In the FTP account list, click the name of the account you want to manage.

Check Login Information
You can find the login information in the FTP account details. To connect to FTP, you usually need to know the FTP Server Address and Username. You can find more information in the article Webhosting – FTP Access.
You can only find the FTP account password in the account creation email notification. If you do not have this email, you must change your password.
In the FTP account details, you can also check the account folder. This folder cannot be changed. To set a different folder, create a new account.
Change FTP Account Password
To change your FTP account password, follow these steps:
- Go to the FTP account management interface.
- In the Change FTP Password, enter:
- New Password: Enter a new password containing at least 6 characters with at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one number. Click the key icon next to the field to generate a random secure password.
- Confirm Password: Re-enter the new password from the first field.
- Click the Change button.
For security reasons, the password must not contain the FTP account name or the following strings: 12345, aaaaa, admin, password, passwd, password.
Block FTP Account
Blocking an FTP account prevents anyone with that account from logging into FTP. You can unblock the account at any time from the customer administration panel.
Follow these steps to block or unblock an FTP account:
- Go to the FTP account management interface.
- Click the block or unblock button.
You can recognize a blocked account by the icon with the letter B in the FTP account list in the Webhosting details.
You can even block the main account.
Common Issues
Common issues with FTP accounts include:
Forgotten FTP Account Password
Issue: We lost our FTP account password and need to resend it.
Solution: If you do not have the email with the password for the FTP account stored anywhere, support cannot resend it. Change your password and save it.
Disabled Login
Issue: We cannot login to FTP.
Cause: The most common causes include a changed password or a deleted account folder. The account can also be blocked or deleted.
Solution: Follow these steps:
- Test the login in the WebFTP client.
- Check the existence of the account and the folder it has access to (log in with the main account).
- If the account is blocked, unblock it.
- If the account is deleted, create a new one with new credentials.
- Change the password and wait 15 minutes for the change to propagate.
If none of this helps, contact customer support. Provide the Webhosting and FTP Account names and attach a screenshot of the error message.
Deleted Account
Issue: We accidentally deleted the FTP account.
Solution: Create a new account with new credentials. The original account cannot be restored.
