Common Issues

Common problems with changing your mailbox password include:

New Password Doesn’t Work

Issue: After changing the mailbox password, I still can’t login.

Cause: In addition to the password, other data are also involved in a successful login. In some cases, the mail server may be unavailable. The most reliable login test is the online WebMail client.

Solution: Make sure that all login information and the mail servers are in order.

  1. After saving the password change, wait 15 minutes before logging in.
  2. Log in to WebMail with your full email address and new password.
  3. Check the SMTP and POP3/IMAP settings in your e-mail client (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc …).
  4. Use the Status service to verify that the mail servers are not down.

Unable to Log Into Customer Admin Panel

Issue: I can’t change my password because I can’t access the customer administration panel.

Cause: Mail services are either managed by a stranger or are in an inaccessible customer account.

Solution: If the hosting of the mail services is managed by a third party or company, contact this intermediary with a request to change the password. If you have email services in your account, but you cannot log in, follow the instructions in Administration – Login Troubleshooting.

FAQ

Question: Where will the mailbox password change be reflected?
Answer: Enter the password change in all mail clients where you want to keep access to the mailbox. If you are sending emails from a web form, check that you have a new password set there as well (unless you are sending via PHP mail).
