WEDOS Global Conditions
You can add a domain registered with any registrar to WEDOS Global, but we recommend using WEDOS DNS servers. If you are using another provider’s DNS servers, go through the Global – Third-party DNS Provider guide to make sure you can perform the necessary settings for your domain.
Domains Registered with WEDOS
If you are adding a domain registered with WEDOS, make sure that you see the domain in the customer account you log into WEDOS Global with, or that you are an authorized user of the domain. If you fulfill this requirement, the system can automate a significant part of the domain activation.
You can move a domain from one customer account to another using either the customer ID and login, or an authorization password.
Add New Domain
To add a domain to WEDOS Global, follow these steps:
- Log in to the WEDOS Global administration panel.
- Select Add Domain in the left menu.
- Enter the domain name and click the Add button.
- Select the DNS Management Method – NS WEDOS is recommended, but you can also use your own NS.
After this basic setup, the system performs a DNS check. Within 2-3 minutes, it will display a list of DNS records it discovered for you to check.
If both the domain and DNS are in the logged in WEDOS account, you will find a link to consent to an automatic DNS record update.

You can only change DNS records automatically for domains registered with WEDOS, which are situated in the same customer account, or an account authorized to this domain and DNS.
If you cannot change DNS automatically, click the Continue button below the record listing.
If the domain is not registered in the customer account you use for WEDOS Global, click the consent link to log out. The system will prompt you to log into the account where the domain is located, or an authorized account. Once you’re done with the setup, click the Continue button.
If the domain is not registered with WEDOS, ignore the link and click the Continue button.
Domain Activation
Domain activation will take place automatically under the following conditions:
- The domain uses WEDOS DNS servers.
- The domain is registered with WEDOS, either in the account through which you are logged in to WG, or in an authorized account.
- You confirmed your consent to rewrite the A and AAAA domain records automatically.
If the automatic activation does not occur or takes too long, check the following:
- If you selected the DNS Management Method – WEDOS NS while adding the domain, make sure that the domain uses WEDOS DNS (you can find instructions for domains registered with WEDOS here). When changing the settings, expect a delay of 6 – 48 hours needed for the changes to be completely propagated within the network.
- Make sure that the domain has correctly set records of type A, or AAAA (for domains using WEDOS NS), or CNAME (for domains with another provider’s NS). You can find the IP addresses in the Service table in the domain Dashboard.

You have now successfully activated your domain in WEDOS Global.
Server Setup
If you use the WEDOS Global service with a hosting service other than WEDOS Webhosting, make sure that your server and hosting service provider allows traffic from Global’s network server IP addresses. You can find a complete list of addresses at https://ips.wedos.global/ips.txt or https://ips.wedos.global/ips.json.
Common Issues
Common issues with domain activation in WEDOS Global include:
Domain Verification
Issue: The system says: Another paid WEDOS Global Protection service for the same domain already exists in the system, which will be terminated by moving it via TXT record. If you need to move to another account including the paid period, please contact us via customer support.
Cause: The added domain already has an active WEDOS Global service, but it is not in your account.
Solution: Verify your access to the domain by adding the required TXT record to the domain’s DNS records. After successful verification, the system moves the Global service to the current account.
If you are using WEDOS DNS, make sure you enter the TXT record in the form:
Name TTL Type Data
_wgp_verification 300 TXT (unique verification code)
DNS is checked every 30 minutes. If verification is not successful within 1 hour, contact your DNS provider’s support (if you have WEDOS DNS, use the form). Include the domain name and required DNS record data in your request.
Change DNS Servers
Issue: There is an error message: Complete your order by changing DNS servers to WEDOS Global DNS servers. Pointing your domain to the WEDOS Global Protection nameservers is an important step for activation and must be completed in order for WEDOS Global Protection to optimize and protect your site.
Cause: When setting up the service, you selected DNS management via WEDOS NS, but the system detected another provider’s DNS servers.
Solution: Change the domain’s DNS servers according to the instructions in the administration. For CZ domains, set NSSET WEDOS
. Wait 6 – 48 hours for the changes to propagate. After the system detects the correct settings, it automatically moves to the next step.
FAQ
Question: I don’t have a domain with WEDOS, so I can’t give consent to rewrite DNS records. What should I do?
Answer: On the Found DNS Records page, click Continue. Then set the DNS records manually according to the instructions in the Domain Activation chapter.
Question: When I change DNS A and AAAA records manually, what exactly should I do? Should I add them to the existing ones or replace them?
Answer: Replace all existing A and AAAA records with no name and * in the name. Leave the A and AAAA records for the subdomains unchanged.
Question: Where do I choose the service plan?
Answer: When you set up the service, you get a 15-day trial version of the Advanced plan. If you want to change it, follow these instructions.
