Create New User
The system creates the first (main) WEDOS Disk user automatically when the service is set up. It sends their login credentials to the service billing email.
You can add additional users to the 100 GB (3 total) and 1-3 TB (5 total) Disk. Follow these steps:
- Log into the customer administration panel.
- In the navigation bar, slect Server Hosting WEDOS Disk.
- Choose the disk you want to add a user to.
- In the left menu, select New User WEDOS Disk.
- Enter the required information:
- Login: Username identifier.
- Path: The path to the user’s root directory (default /, i.e. the root directory of the Disk).
- Password recipient.
- Click the Create User button.
User Settings
In the user settings you can:
- enable or disable disk availability via FTP, rSync and SMB protocols (more information in the Disk – Connection Options manual);
- delete the user (unavailable for the main user);
- change user password;
- change the default directory for that user (unavailable for the main user).
Saved changes will take effect within 30 minutes.
To enter the user settings, follow these steps:
- Log into the customer administration panel.
- In the navigation bar, slect Server Hosting WEDOS Disk.
- Choose the disk you want to set the user for.
- In the WEDOS Disk Users table, click the username.
- Perform the changes and click the appropriate button.
FAQ
Question: How do I add even more users to use the service?
Answer: Each version of WEDOS Disk has a maximum number of users that cannot be increased. You can connect multiple devices through one user account, but we cannot guarantee that when multiple devices are connected simultaneously from one account, the transfer will work correctly.
