Email Blacklist and Whitelist
Blacklisting is used to mark an email address from which you no longer wish to receive mail. You can thus mark SPAM or other messages whose senders you want to block.
The server rejects messages from a blacklisted address.
Whitelisting has the opposite function – the server will try to accept messages that would otherwise fall into the Junk (spam) folder due to a high SPAM score, or be completely rejected by the server.
You can also manage the blacklist and whitelist in the customer administration panel according to the instructions Emails – Blacklist/Whitelist in Customer Admin Panel.
Add Address to Blacklist
If you mark an e-mail message as Junk, you will automatically add its sender to the blacklist. Follow these steps:
- Log into the WebMail client.
- Select the messages you want to mark as SPAM.
- In the top bar, click the Junk button.
If you want to add an address to the blacklist without the help of a received message, follow the steps in the chapter Manage Blacklist.
Manage Blacklist
The WebMail Blacklist and Whitelist interface is currently only available in Czech.
You can access the blacklist and whitelist by clicking the Blacklist button in the upper right corner of the WebMail application.
Add Address to Blacklist or Whitelist
Add the address to the blacklist by following these steps:
- Log into the WebMail client.
- In the upper right corner, click Blacklist.
- Type the address you want to blacklist in the Přidat odesílatele… (Add sender) field.
- Click the +Přidat (Add) button.
You can add users to the whitelist using a similar procedure – just switch from the Blacklist to the Whitelist before adding the sender.
By adding a blacklisted address to the whitelist or vice versa, you remove it from the previous list at the same time.
Remove Address from Blacklist or Whitelist
Remove the address from the blacklist or whitelist by following these steps:
- Log into the WebMail client.
- In the upper right corner, click Blacklist.
- Choose Blacklist, or Whitelist
- Find the address in the list.
- Click the x button to remove it.
By removing a blacklisted or whitelisted address, you do not automatically add it to the second list.
FAQ
Question: If I remove a sender from the blacklist, will I still receive the messages they sent?
Answer: Some servers try to send the message repeatedly. As long as the sender does not receive a undeliverable message, there is a chance that the email sent at the time of blacklisting will arrive after the user has been removed from the blacklist.
