New gTLD Domains – Verification of the Domain Owner

  Domains

On March 17, 2020, we were accredited by the globally known non-profit organization ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) and from then on we are having to adhere to all its rules and principles.

One of these policies is also to verify the domain owner. We have chosen the electronic method for verifying domain owners. This is based on a verification e-mail that is sent to the email address of the domain owner, where each client finds a link for verification. Verification is achieved by opening the link.

Varification of the domain owner takes place in the following 3 situations:

  • The domain has been newly registered
  • The domain has been transferred to WEDOS from a different registrar
  • The domain’s owner/holder has changed

The domain has been newly registered

You will not receive a verification email if your email address was verified in the past.

If your e-mail address has not yet been verified, you will receive a verification email to the email of the domain owner within a short time after the establishment of the new gTLD domain, i.e. only after its full payment. This must be confirmed by clicking on the link. If the domain owner is not confirmed, you will receive a reminder 7, 15, 30 and 45 days after registration.

  • The sender for the verification email – null@wedos.com
  • The subject – Email Address Verification Required.

Warning! The domain will not function until the email address of the domain owner has been verified.

After confirmation, it may take several hours for the domain to be listed in DNS.

The Domain Has Been Transferred or Its Owner Has Changed

In these two cases, it is not necessary to verify the domain owner’s email through a separate email, because we decided to combine the domain owner’s verification with the confirmation of the transfer to WEDOS from a competitor or with the change of domain owner.
