gTLD Domains – Owner Email Verification

  Domains

This article applies to all generic domains (COM, ORG, INFO, etc.) including new generic domains (ONLINE, WEBSITE, etc.).

In this article, you will learn:

Generic Domain Owner Email Verification

As a registrar, we must verify generic domain owner email according to ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) rules and policies.

Until you properly verify the domain owner’s email, the registry will block this domain’s DNS.

Verification Procedure

The email address verification is one-time, so if a registry has already verified it, it does not require verification again.

New Domain

After completing a new generic domain registration with an unverified email, follow these steps:

  1. Check the domain owner’s email inbox, including the SPAM folder.
  2. Open the email from null@wedos.com with the subject line Email Address Verification Required.
  3. Click the link starting with https://client.wedos.dev/waps/.

If you do not confirm the domain owner’s email immediately, the system will send reminders on the 7th, 15th, 30th and 45th days after registration.

After confirmation, the registry enables the domain’s DNS. It may take up to 48 hours for the changes to fully propagate.

Domain Transfer or Owner Change

We verify the domain owner’s email as part of the domain transfer or owner change procedure. We will not require any further confirmation.
