EU Domains – Basic Information

  Domains, EU Domains

EU domains may only be owned by citizens of the European Union, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, or by legal entities domiciled or branched in those countries.

Domains can be registered for a period of 1-10 years and extended arbitrarily for up to 10 years.

A change in the registrar of an EU domain is paid, but once the transfer takes place, the domain will be extended by 1 year.

EU domains use authorization passwords, which are obtained from the current registrar, for transfers and ownership changes.

All changes to the domain (except for a transfer with a renewal) are free and can be achieved online after logging in to the customer administration.

EU domains can be renewed for another 40 days after expiration. Later, renewals are no longer possible with us and the domain is canceled.
