Insurance is currently available only for CZ domains.

For CZ domains registered with WEDOS, you can order insurance directly from the customer administration panel. The service is provided by pojisteni.cz and the Slavia insurance company.

The insurance order is non-binding until you pay for it. The insurance period starts at the moment of payment. You can terminate it according to the general insurance conditions (document in Czech) – among other things, by changing the registrar or domain owner.

Basic domain insurance includes the following services:

• Domain insurance in case of theft: The insurance covers the technical theft of the domain, i.e. the unauthorized removal of access to the domain from its authorized owner. The amount of the insurance compensation depends on the service plan. We currently offer the plan Jistota with a compensation of up to CZK 1,000,000 and the Jistota EXTRA plan with a compensation of up to CZK 3,000,000.
• IT assistance: With the IT experts of the Slavia insurance company, you can quickly consult problems connected with the operation of the domain, for example the procedures related to theft, prevention of fraud during transfer, authorization, expiration of domain ownership and renewal, or theft of an online account.

The annual fee includes 1 IT assistant intervention (Jistota, Jistota EXTRA) or legal assistance (Jistota EXTRA only) with a maximum duration of 60 minutes.

The EXTRA insurance variant includes, in addition to basic services and higher compensation, the following services:

• Legal assistance: With the help of a lawyer, you can resolve, for example, disputes over domain ownership, misuse of a name/trademark, domain sale and transfer, inheritance proceedings in relation to domain ownership, or the securing and blocking of a domain by decision of state authorities. Follow these steps to order insurance for an existing domain:

1. Log into the customer administration panel.
2. In the navigation bar, select Domains.
3. Select the domain you want to insure.
4. In the domain detail, select the insurance variant and click Continue to Pojisteni.cz.

You complete the order on the partner’s website Pojisteni.cz (Czech only).

The domain insurance order is non-binding until you pay for it.

You can also insure a new domain:

1. In the new domain order, check Domain insurance in the Add-on section and choose the plan.
2. Check your email after completing the domain order.
3. Follow the instructions in the email.

As it is an external service, the Domain Insurance system does not count towards the domain registration price.

Call the assistance line on working days from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m CET. You can find the current number to call at www.pojisteni.cz/domeny (Czech only).

If you suspect that the domain has been stolen, also contact the Czech Police and WEDOS support.

In the event of domain theft, Slavia insurance company will compensate you if the domain is not returned within 30 days, or within 180 days from non-EU countries.

Question: Which TLDs can I insure?
Answer: We currently only insure domains with the CZ TLD.

Question: What exactly does domain theft mean?
Answer: The insurance company defines domain theft as the technical theft of a domain, which is the unauthorized removal of domain access from its owner.

Question: How should I secure the domain against theft?
Answer: Keep domain contact information up-to-date, especially the phone number and email. You can also lock the domain against changes. In the event that the insurance company evaluates the security measures as insufficient, it can propose a reduction in the compensation amount.

Question: Who provides support for the Domain Insurance service?
Answer: If you need advice or help with the product, contact support at POJISTENI.cz. All contracts, orders, invoicing, etc. go through them. They will also answer any other questions you may have about the product.

Question: Will I really get CZK 1 million for a stolen domain?
Answer: In case of domain theft, the insurance company will evaluate the price of the domain, e.g. e-shop turnover for a certain period, etc. Based on the documents supplied by you, it will then determine the real value and pay the corresponding amount.
