In this article, you will learn:
Diagnostic Tools
With this toolkit accessible from the customer administration, you can check a large number of possible problems that you will encounter with domains and hosting, such as service expirations, their interconnections, web hosting performance and public domain data.
You can access the basic diagnostic domain tools by following these steps:
- Log into the customer administration panel.
- In the navigation bar, click Domains.
- Choose the domain to diagnose.
- In the left menu, select Domain Diagnostics.
Diagnostics are also available for Webhosting and WMS.
The diagnostics suite currently includes three tools:
- Basic diagnostics are used to check the status of services. It very quickly detects problems with DNS servers and records, possibly with expiration.
- Web App Performance is based on the external WebPageTest tool, which subjects the specified web page to a thorough performance test.
- WHOIS retrieves publicly available domain data from an external service.
Basic Diagnostics
This diagnostic generates the following tables:
- Domain (Registry) contains information about the domain taken from the registry, in particular the registrar, the expiration date and the set DNS servers (NSSET).
- Domain (System) supplements the domain information in the registry with internal WEDOS data.
- Webhosting contains web hosting data with (sub)domain name, if it exists.
- DNS mainly contains diagnostic information about DNS servers and records.
- Serverhosting and VPS ON contain information about the virtual servers to which the domain is directed, if they exist.
- WMS webhosting contains data about the webhosting with the (sub)domain name, if it exists on the WMS service.
Domain (Registry)
In this table you will find basic information about the domain as seen by the registry.
- Domain: the name of the diagnosed domain.
- IDN ACE: transliteration of the diagnosed domain name, if it uses foreign characters (for example, diacritics).
- TLD Available: information on whether it is possible to register the TLD with us.
- Domain Available: information about whether or not the domain is registered.
- Registrar: information about whether or not we register that particular domain and the name of the domain registrar.
- Status: list of domain status codes, for example restrictions (clientHold and the like).
- Expiration: the expiration date and the number of days remaining until that date (negative numbers represent time after expiration).
- DNS: the list of DNS servers used by the domain, according to the data in the registry. You can find more information in the article Domains – DNS Servers (NSSET).
- DNS Status: DNS server settings and list of possible collisions.
- DNSSEC Status: DNSSEC settings and possible collisions. More information can be found in the article Domains – DNSSEC.
Domain (System)
In this table, you will find additional information about the domain from the WEDOS system.
- Registered: information on whether the system already registers the domain (for example, if it was registered with us in the past or accepted for transfer).
- Status: information on whether the domain can be managed in the system (active) or not (disabled, deleted).
- Expiration: the expiration date and the number of days remaining until that date (negative numbers represent time after expiration).
- Owner’s Email Address Verification: information on whether the domain owner has verified their email address (if the registry requires verification).
Webhosting
In this table you will find data about the web hosting with the (sub)domain name, if any. If you use the WebSite service, you will find the hosting data assigned to it here.
- Webhosting: information about whether web hosting is set up for the (sub)domain and whether it is located in the given customer account.
- Status: information on whether the domain can be managed in the system (active) or not (disabled, deleted, etc.).
- Expiration: the expiration date and the number of days remaining until that date (negative numbers represent time after expiration).
- Cluster: the location on the server where the hosting is stored. You will use it especially when monitoring the Status service.
- A Records: information about whether the domain’s IPv4 address points to the given web host.
- AAAA Records: information about whether the domain’s IPv6 address points to the given web host. AAAA records are optional.
- MX Records: information about whether the web hosting uses (at least partially) our mail servers.
- Emaily – Space: up-to-date information on email space usage.
- Emaily – Sent (PHP): the number of emails sent on this day via the PHP mail() function.
How do I find the number of emails sent via SMTP?
You can find out the number of emails in the hosting details, in the mailbox list. You can find more information in the article Emails – Mailboxes.
According to the diagnostics, the A/AAAA/MX records are not directed to Webhosting, but I’m sure I’ve set them up correctly. What do I do?
Make sure that you have changed the records on the DNS servers you actually use. If the records still do not match, it is possible that the changes are still propagating (usually takes up to 1 hour for DNS records or up to 48 hours for DNS servers).
DNS
In this table you will find basic information about DNS servers and records.
- DNS: the list of DNS servers used by the domain, detected by separate diagnostics. If it differs from the DNS in the Domain table in the registry, the DNS servers are probably being changed.
- DNS Status: summary DNS server diagnostic.
- A: list of domain A records (without subdomains).
- AAAA: list of domain AAAA records (without subdomains).
- MX: list of domain MX records (without subdomains).
- WDNS: information about whether the domain uses WEDOS DNS.
- DNSSEC: information about whether DNSSEC security is active for the domain. More information can be found in the article Domains – DNSSEC.
DNS servers in the Domain in the registry table and DNS are different, what is it?
DNS servers have probably changed in the last 48 hours.
How can I diagnose subdomains?
With this diagnostic, you can only check the subdomain that is the name of a Webhosting service – just run the diagnostic there. Diagnostics are currently not available for other subdomains.
Serverhosting
In this table you will find basic information about server hosting for the domain. It can be a dedicated server, a VPS SSD service, a VPS HDD, a redirect server (if the domain uses basic redirection), or a Miniweb server.
- Serverhosting: Server hosting name and number. Click the magnifying glass button to open the server details.
- Type: type of server – virtual or dedicated.
- Status: a short description of the server hosting status.
- Expiration: the expiration date and the number of days remaining until that date (negative numbers represent time after expiration).
- IP Addresses: IPv4 addresses assigned to the server.
- Cluster: the location where the virtual server is stored.
- VPS Status: an overview of the number of CPUs used by the server, server and network status.

FAQ
Question: How up-to-date is the diagnostic data?
Answer: The data refresh rate usually ranges from minutes (for example, service status) to hours (DNS servers).
